Welcome to TheFeed, a forum system inspired by modern social media platforms, but without ads and designed with a strong focus on transparency and privacy. To get started, simply register an account. An email address is not required, though this means there's no way to reset your password if you lose it. After registering, one of the site's active members must approve your account before you can log in. Once approved, you can upload a profile picture and participate in discussions on the dashboard.
TheFeed uses hashtags to organize topics. You can subscribe to or opt out of specific topics in your profile settings. You can also set a default topic for your new posts. Note that only administrators can create new topics, so typing #randomtag won't create a new topic automatically.
Markdown formatting is supported throughout the site. Here's how to use it:
- *italic* text is created by wrapping text with single asterisks
- **bold** text is created by wrapping text with double asterisks
- ***bold and italic*** text uses triple asterisks
- Starting a line with * creates bullet points
- Starting a line with - creates numbered lists
- Links are created using [link text](url)
- Images are embedded with
